Hey
So today i finished the vigrid roughlands in grizzleheim and i went to try the next area. turns out i cant until i am level 30. im level 28. so, i went to marleybone and accepted a few quests.
marleybone is a very interesting world.
it looks alot like the parts of london where my cousins live, except for the whole airship and rooftop thing going on. the buildings are accurate, and i enjoyed playing in hyde park and looking for stray cats.
i accepted a quest which had me looking for baxter, some sort of cat thing who has info on the o'learys, a mob of rodents and felines.
one thing about marleybone: how all the dogs have really strong british accents and the cats sound like my grandfather(who grew up in chicago in the 20s and 30s).
my grandpa has an accent which sounds like mobsters on all the 1960's movies about them. he also sounds exactly like the cat thugs.
my cousin(who lives in london) sounds exactly like felicia(the craft lady)
so congrats kingsisle on making the people sound realistic!

finished with Savarstaad Pass(i think)
Hey
So i played two hours on grizzleheim today and i finished savarstaad pass(i dont remeber how it is spelled). i think i really like these quest lines with all the references to norse mythology and the funny looking grendels and splithoofs are a nice break from the spell card monsters we see.
heres a shot of me defeating some grendel there:
So i really like this world and i cant wait to get the silverback wildclaw pet.
im enjoying using all my traps and charms to get 1000 health back on vampire every once in a while too

Celestia Revealed(Sort of)
Well, i wasnt on Wizard 101 the other day cuz i was at the beach, but when i checked various blogs this morning i noticed that they were(more or less) all featuring the same story.
Apparently the Beckett Pokemon magazine just had a short story about the pre-quest to celestia!
Willowdreamer quotes:
"After attaining the rank of Grand Master and defeating Malistaire, you are summoned to Ravenwood by Halston Balestrom, who explains that he has received a cryptic message on a strange device, the Resonating Omni-Audio-graph. Balestrom asks for help decoding the message and sends you to Krokotopia to fina an ancient artifact that will help in the translation. Upon arrival, you discover that the item you need has been stolen, broken apart and scattered throughout the Spiral by a group of mysterious villains.
It's up to you to travel across the Spiral and defeat a cadre of villains to get the pieces Balestrom requires. Gradually, you learn more about these mysterious enemies, discovering that they are the Shadow Weavers, a secret order of Wizards with sinister plans. Upon successfully decoding Balestrom's mysterious message, you learn that it originates from a long-lost Marleybonian survey team from the Spiral Geographic Society, a league of explorers who set out long ago to find the lost world of Celestia. According to the message, the explorers believe they have stumbled upon an important discovery, but they are trapped and in great danger!"
This sounds very interesting! Apparently there is also a picture of the Shadow Weavers, and they seem to be insects:

So it looks like it will be insects vs. crusteaceans in Celestia. Cool.
Well, thats all for today.

Burn, Mummy, Burn
I've been completing all the quests in Krokotopia, and i came across one that had me burning mummies.
My first thought was "isn't this terrible for all the marleybonian museums?", but when i think about it, there are a ton of mummies in the world, and the marleybonians can do without(i went to egypt once and i saw a ton of tombs, all of them housed mummies which are in places all over the world. We have quite a few here in chicago too.)

I have to say, i enjoyed my time in egypt, so Krokotopia holds a place in my wizarding heart. Egypt was very hot (100 degrees+ in some parts), but it was fun.
I enjoyed the valley of the kings and the boat on the nile especially. So, i have to say, the Krokosphinx boat is a(more or less) accurate representation. Other than that i completed "find the beetles" and defeated a bunch of bosses to see what pets i got. I didnt get any except for a snow serpent from Krokhotep, but it hasnt hatched yet.

The First...
Yup.
The first. Of a blog. About the spiral. About a wizard.
A Necromancer to be exact. Named Corwin Shadowmancer. That's me.
I've been playing Wizard 101 for about 2 weeks now, and i reached level 25 today. I've been meaning to start a blog documenting my adventures for some time, but i never had the time. Which is funny, cuz i have a lot of time on my hands nowadays.
Well, anyway, today i was questing in Krokotopia, and i got this quest to defeat some champion of the arena. After fighting a ton of hall servants, blue manders(salamander-like people), i thought i had it easy, but alas, i had to go and fight three bosses again. after doing that, i fought a different boss, and talked to Shalek the Wise, expecting the "great" champion to be a piece of cake. I thought i was going to be fighting insignificant monsters for ever.
Boy was i wrong.
The great champion was (at least for my level), truly great. My deck was not prepared for a monster with 2000 health(800 more than me), + 2 other monsters of 300-something health each. I made the mistake of going for the smaller fish first. While Grummish Greataxe(the boss), did 500 damage a hit, i was concentrating my attacks on the two sokkwis(crocodile-like people).
I went down within the first 6 turns.
I went back to the oasis, healed, and decided to try again.
8 turns this time.
So, i decided to call on a friend. I am a soloist by nature, but this was too much. When my friend, Jacob Deathhammer came, we took those monsters down like nobody's business, and when i finished the quest, i was level 25! Halfway to the top(lvl 50(at least until the level cap is raised with Celestia))!
So, i decided now was a good time to start a blog. I had signed up for blogspot a while back, and so i clicked create blog. And then i started typing(as soon as i chose a template and all that).
So, this was the first post.
I hope anyone who reads this enjoys it, and clicks follow.
